How Many Non-Profit Boards Do You Sit On? Results

How many non-profit boards do you sit on infographic

Almost 40% of respondents said they sat on one board only. Most (nearly 80%) respondents currently sit on one or two boards.

Only 20% of respondents currently sit on more than two non-profit boards.

Several people commented that sitting on a large number of boards would limit potential effectiveness and commitment as a board member.

It is also worth noting that in some areas, population and environmental factors may limit the number of potential candidates available to take a position on a board.

In these areas suitable candidates may find themselves on multiple boards to help meet the demand. In this survey no respondents reported sitting on five boards and no respondents reported sitting on more than seven boards.
