
Peter Quarmby – Community Sector Banking
Profile
Peter is Executive Director of Community Sector Banking and CEO of Community Sector Innovations, the Banks business development and innovation unit. Peter has worked in the Community Sector for over 25 years. He has been CEO of two successful community-based employment services providers (Enterprise and Training Company of Coffs Harbour and Access Community Group in Wollongong). Peter developed the concept of Community Sector Banking and was instrumental in the foundation of the bank in 2002. Peter also developed and was a founding director of and Australia’s first Regional Superannuation Fund.
He is currently Deputy Chair of Jobs Australia Ltd, and is a Director of the Jobs Australia Foundation, Peter was a founding director of both Community Sector Enterprises Pty Ltd and Community Sector Banking Pty Ltd. Peter also serves on a number of other boards at both a national and international level.

During 2005, Peter addressed a session on social banking at the World Social Forum at Porto Allegre in Brazil and to an international meeting of the Commonwealth Association for Local Action and Economic Development (COMMACT) held in Liverpool UK. He has also participated in another international COMMACT meeting held in Mumbai India in 2005. In June 2008 Peter attended the World Social Finance Forum held in Quebec city and was elected to the board of INAISE.
