Better Boards Conference 2012: Saturday Recap

Saturday morning marked the commencement of the main program of the 6th Australasian Better Boards conference. The action stepped up considerably from CEO’s Day with well over 500 delegates attending the weekend sessions. The Better Boards Conference is designed to encourage those in governance roles in the non-profit space to make new connections and gain knowledge. Whether these connections are new ideas or new relationships, we hope that they inspire innovation and new opportunities within the delegates’ organisations.

During the action-filled day we had informative keynote presentations from Yvonne Harrison, Michael Goldsworthy and David Locke, which provided delegates with insights and inspirations. Delegates were exposed to alternate perspectives and a range of different approaches to issues affecting governance and leadership in the non-profit world. We also had two lively panels during the day covering a range of ideas, including new regulations in the sector and the complex and varied legal issues that are pertinent to the non-profit sector.

Better Boards would like to thank all delegates, speakers and sponsors for attending the conference. We hope that those who attended Saturday Night’s Gala Dinner had an enjoyable evening and benefited from the opportunity to interact with others in the sector in a relaxing environment. We sincerely hope you have found the experience enriching and that you have made some valuable contacts.
