CEO’s Day 2012 Recap

Friday morning marked the commencement of the 6th Australasian Better Boards Conference “Towards 2020”. We began the conference with CEO’s Day, an event aimed exclusively at Chief Executive Officers. This event allows CEOs to discuss new ideas and contemplate the challenges and opportunities of leadership that are specific to this role. CEOs were also able to interact with an intimate group of others in the same position.

Alex Malley, the CEO of CPA Australia, began the day’s proceedings with an engaging and informative presentation about the value of courage in leadership. This keynote was followed by a two sessions of concurrent workshops and a panel presentation on NFPs, Business and Social Capital. Lindsay McMillan OAM, the CEO of Converge International, brought the day to a close with his keynote on Relational Thinking, which received an enthusiastic response from many delegates.

The speakers were well received by delegates with many sessions, especially the intimate workshops, inspiring lively debate and discussions within the audience. Overall, the atmosphere was relaxed and friendly, promoting cooperation and collaboration of ideas.

Better Boards would like to thank all delegates, speakers and sponsors for attending CEO’s Day. We sincerely hope you found the experience enriching and that you made some valuable contacts through your interaction with other delegates during the day. We look forward to seeing many of you again at future events.
