“No Capes Darling!” Simplifying Risk Management

Jane Boag B. App Sc (OT), Grad Dip Community Health, GAICD, MICD

Principal Consultant, What's The Plan

After a career in variety of senior and executive roles in health, insurance and risk management, Jane is the name behind “What’s The Plan”; a consultancy focusing on strategic and practical enterprise risk management advisory to support decision making.

Throughout her career, Jane has held a number of non-executive Director roles in Community Health, Aged Care, Disability and the Arts sectors, with a special interest in clinical governance.

Edna from "The Incredibles" made more than a fashion statement by removing capes from the superhero wardrobe - she also managed risk!

There are other things we can remove or streamline to improve our risk management approach, maturity and experience - jargon, out of date terminology, arguing about whether a risk High or Extreme…the list goes on.

In this interactive session, we’ll take inspiration from Edna and redesign a Risk Register to be contemporary, practical and stylish. We’ll look at a typical Risk Register and explore how we can trim it to be more user friendly, and what accessories we can add to create value to your collective decision making. A useful session for Board members and Executive alike.
