How to Implement Inclusive Governance - A Legal Perspective

Jonathan Teh

Principal, Russell Kennedy

Jonathan assists clients with commercial contracts for business operations through to technology services. He has experience in relation to business structures, including the creation and restructure of companies, trusts and not-for-profit organisations.

In addition, he has assisted with several business sales and acquisitions, and organisational mergers. Jonathan regularly provides advice on corporate governance, Corporations Act and procurement issues. He also advises clients in the health, government and not-for-profit sectors.

This presentation will present a model for inclusive governance. An inclusive governance model enables participation from persons with a disability, have lived experience or are marginalized. It requires buy in, constitution reform and inclusive policies to be worked out and implemented at board level.

This presentation will discuss the implementation of this model, including what training, coaching, mentoring and documentation may be required. It will also outline the legal risks and potential pitfalls of enabling inclusive governance.
