Nikki Beaumont
Founder and Director, Beaumont People
Nikki is the Founder and Director of Beaumont People, bringing over 35 years of experience in the recruitment industry. Her distinguished career is marked by an exceptional blend of industry-leading achievements, sharp business acumen, deep market insight, and a genuine commitment to personal care and compassion.
Beaumont People are experts in recruitment, people, and culture, driven by a passion for placing people first and recognising them as an organisation’s most valuable asset. Founded in 2001 by Nikki, the firm delivers tailored recruitment solutions across diverse industries, including Charity and Not-for-Profit, Education, and Professional Services. Beaumont People offers comprehensive recruitment services for temporary, permanent, and contract roles, as well as an established executive search function for C-suite and Board-level positions.
Since founding Beaumont People in 2001, Nikki has been influential in transforming the recruitment industry, championing a people-first philosophy that prioritises meaningful connections between individuals and organisations. Her purpose-driven vision has empowered countless professionals and helped create opportunities for impactful work across Australia.
In 2009, during the height of the Global Financial Crisis, Nikki launched a dedicated Not-for-Profit Division, a bold initiative that underscored her commitment to giving back. Recognising the unique challenges faced by the sector, she consulted extensively with Charity leaders to develop a premium, 360-degree recruitment service for Australian-registered charities—offered at a fraction of the cost. This initiative not only amplified her contributions beyond corporate donations and volunteering but also kept her team motivated during a challenging period for the recruitment industry and today, this division stands as one of Australia’s leading NFP recruitment providers. Beaumont People have supported over 600 not for profits over the last 15 years with recruitment services ranging from entry level roles, to board and CEO and everything in between so they understand the constantly evolving challenges faced by the sector.
Nikki’s contributions to the recruitment industry have been widely recognized. She has received a Lifetime Achievement Award from the RCSA, was ranked among the Top 10 Women Entrepreneurs in 2018, and was a nominee for the Telstra Business Woman of the Year Award in 2019.
This presentation emphasises the vital role that board directors play in shaping and supporting talent strategies to help their organisations thrive, particularly in the resource-constrained environment faced by many not-for-profits. With people being every organisation’s greatest asset, boards have a unique opportunity to ensure the right talent is in place to deliver on strategic goals and achieve more with less.
Nikki will discuss board leadership in talent strategy: how directors can advocate for strategic investments in recruitment and talent development that align with the organisation’s long-term vision and mission.
Guiding talent acquisition trends: Exploring key workplace shifts, generational expectations, and the impact of AI and technology, ensuring boards are equipped to support competitive and effective hiring strategies.
Enhancing organisational competitiveness: Practical approaches for addressing compensation gaps and positioning the organisation as an employer of choice in a highly competitive talent market.
Driving diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI): The pivotal role boards play in fostering DEI, enhancing organisational impact, and reflecting the diversity of donors and the broader community.
Lessons from both achievements and challenges will provide actionable insights to empower board directors to champion innovative and impactful talent initiatives. This session equips board directors with the tools and perspectives they need to play an active, strategic role in talent management, ensuring their organisations not only adapt but excel in today’s complex and competitive landscape.
