The 2014 Australasian Better Boards Conference was held in Adelaide on 1-3 August and the feedback from attendees so far has been overwhelmingly positive. The Board Innovation Tour and CEO’s day were fully subscribed, and the opening keynote on Saturday morning was delivered to a capacity audience.

We trust that all delegates have found the experience enjoyable and rewarding. Please feel free to continue to send through your thoughts, feedback and questions to the team at Better Boards.

Our lucky feedback draw winners for this year were:
CEO’s Day: Rosemary Bishop of 3 Bridges in NSW. Better Boards will donate $400 to Rosemary’s organisation.
3 Bridges is a new community organisation created through the merge of Pole Depot, Keystone and Menai community centres in Southern Sydney. 3 Bridges aims to increase opportunities for working, caring and participating in our community. We care together offering respite care, carers support, home care for the elderly and people with a disability and before and after school care. We work together with the community providing training services to increase the sector’s capacity, pathways to employment and social enterprises. We grow together with the community though our youth services, innovative community centres, positive and healthy ageing centres and by modifying homes to help people stay at home and enjoy our community.

Main Conference: Alan Wilson of Quantum Support Services in Victoria. Better Boards will donate $600 to Alan’s organisation.
Quantum Support Services is a service delivery charity operating across Gippsland in Victoria. QSS provides a broad range of services to some of the most disadvantaged members of the community including; Women and Children escaping Family Violence, Homeless service support for singles families and young people, Foster care placements, managed support for Young People leaving Foster care, Public Housing tenancy support, Adolescent parent support and diversion programs and more. QSS has been providing services for more than 30 years and is Governed by a Board of Voluntary Directors that are drawn from the region in which we work.

The feedback prize draw is now closed, but there’s still time to send through your feedback via our online feedback form if you did not have the chance to fill out the paper version over the weekend.
