Better Boards is pleased to present "Risk Appetite & Effective Decisions" in partnership with Rinske Geerlings, Founder and Principal Consultant at Business As Usual.

Practical techniques on agreeing, as a board, on suitable Risk Appetite and Risk Capacity levels for your organisation, so you can limit the risk of over- and under-investment in controls.

Without clear Risk Appetite and Risk Capacity statements and related Risk Acceptance Criteria, staff in your organisation are ‘flying blind’ without understanding which mitigations are required at minimum versus ’nice to haves’. This also creates a situation whereby management cannot be confident that money is spent well on reasonable treatment options.

In this webinar, you will learn a practical method to agree with fellow board members on your organisation’s preferred, as well as maximum tolerable:

  • Strategic risks, such as those related to mergers, acquisitions, digital transformation, globalisation and industry changes;
  • Financial risks, including market risk, credit risk and liquidity risk;
  • Operational risks, e.g. those related to IT system downtime, staff unavailability. physical asset damage, cyber attacks and supply chain disruptions; and
  • Compliance risks, such as those related to regulations and contractual obligations.
